The Fact
Peer-reviewed sexual-response research supports a nonlinear model of female sexual response in which context, emotional intimacy, arousal, and desire can interact in a circular rather than strictly sequential pattern.
What This Means
The classic linear sequence of desire → arousal → orgasm → resolution does not describe every woman’s experience. Context and physiological readiness can precede conscious desire.
