The Fact

A Pew Research Center survey conducted August 18–24, 2025 found that 38% of U.S. adults said they regularly got news on Facebook.

What This Means

A large share of Americans now encounter news inside a commercial social platform, alongside personal posts, entertainment, advertising, and other content. This fact does not tell us whether the news is accurate or how any individual user's feed is ranked; it establishes that Facebook is a major route through which news reaches the public.
