The Fact

Pew Research Center, using government data, reported that 18% of U.S. adults ages 25–34 lived in a parent’s home in 2023.

What This Means

A sizable share of young adults well beyond college age were still sharing housing with parents. That is directly relevant to Gen X parents who are still providing housing support to adult children.
