The Fact

A Pew Research Center survey conducted August 18–24, 2025 found that 35% of U.S. adults said they regularly got news on YouTube.

What This Means

YouTube is not only an entertainment platform. For more than one-third of U.S. adults, it is also a regular route to news. That changes the information environment because news can arrive through channels, creators, recommendations, and video feeds rather than only through traditional news outlets.
