The Fact

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported an annual average of about 8.8 million multiple jobholders in 2025, equal to 5.4% of all employed people age 16 and older.

What This Means

Millions of workers are not relying on one job alone. The statistic does not tell us why each person holds multiple jobs, but it documents how common multi-job work is in the present labor market.
