The Fact

Christian and Islamic texts both warn against elevating oneself over other people. Philippians 2:3 tells believers to reject selfish ambition and conceit and practice humility. Qur’an 49:11 warns people not to ridicule other groups because those being mocked may be better than the mockers.

What This Means

Religious identity is often used socially as a status boundary, yet source teachings inside both traditions explicitly challenge pride and presumed superiority.
