The Fact

Among workers enrolled in employer-sponsored family health coverage in 2025, the average worker contribution toward the annual premium was $6,850, or about $571 per month.

What This Means

Employer-sponsored insurance is not simply an employer-paid benefit. Families commonly pay thousands of dollars a year directly toward the premium before deductibles, copays, coinsurance, prescriptions, or uncovered care enter the picture.
