The Fact

BLS counted 642,000 long-tenured manufacturing workers displaced during 2023–2025, an increase of 215,000 from the prior survey period. Manufacturing accounted for 19% of all long-tenured displacement in the 2023–2025 window.

What This Means

Manufacturing remained one of the largest sources of long-tenured job displacement, and its displacement count rose substantially from the previous BLS survey period.
